Germinating Cannabis Seeds In Soil
Fill a small pot with moist soil, if possible use seedling or germination soil which is available from all hydro shops and garden centers. This type of soil has the right balance of nutrients for the early stages in your young cannabis plant's life. Regular soil is usually too rich in nutrients that your cannabis seeds don't need. It causes nutrient 'burn' which inhibits healthy growth and can ultimately kill your plant.
Carefully place your seeds 2-5mm under the surface of your soil and cover them back over lightly. I use a cocktail stick to make the holes for my seeds. You only need the soil to be moist, not saturated. Cover the tops of your pots with clear plastic wrap to retain humidity then just place your pots in a nice warm place (69-80 degrees Fahrenheit or 21-27 degrees Celsius) and let nature take it's course!
After a couple of days you will start to see your cannabis seedling popping up with their baby leaves (cotyledons) beginning to shed the seed shell. Remove the wrap from the pot tops and place them under a grow lamp. I would still recommend a grow lamp even if you're planning on growing your cannabis outside. It gives your young plants a little time to get strong and healthy and promotes root growth.
